Thanks to a special project between the CMC and the Canadian Federation of Violin and Bow Makers (the ALAC), a young Canadian string musician is given the opportunity each year to grow as a performer and to play in concert using a top-tier instrument.

This year, that honor goes to young violinist Sofija Radovanovic — a national finalist at the 66th edition of the CMC 2026 (Ontario section), age 10 years old — who has been awarded this loan from the ALAC. She is the recipient of a magnificent 3/4-size violin made by Isabelle Wilbaux and a 3/4-size bow made by Zacharie Rodrigue.

Congratulations, Sofija! We are all thrilled and look forward to seeing you in future concerts!
