Adding to a rich musical career of 35 years, Marc David is also the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Emeritus of the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The recipient of several awards \u2013 including the Medal of the National Assembly of Quebec \u2013 Marc David has been familiar with the Competition for many years, having been a jury member for the Stepping Stone, in addition to assisting his daughter who participated several times as a pianist. The members of the board of directors are convinced that his artistic expertise, his enthusiasm, and his vision of the Competition\u2019s future are directly in line with the ongoing pursuit of the organization\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am very pleased to be joining the spirited team of the <\/em>Canimex \u2013 Canadian Music Competition. <em>I intend to guide the organization forward, in continuity with the excellent work accomplished by outgoing Executive and Artistic Director Marie-Claude Matton.\u201d<\/em> \u2013 Marc David<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His first initiative as head of the Canimex \u2013 Canadian Music Competition was to create the position of Deputy Executive and Artistic Director and to recruit Alexandra Lorange to fill the role.
