On April 22, the Rimouski-Gaspé Chapter of the Canadian Music Competition — under the leadership of Chapter President Chantal Caron — received the Rimouski Cultural Prize in the organizations category. This award was given for the dedicated work of the organization’s CMC volunteers and for their exemplary contribution to the development and promotion of outstanding musical talents in their region. Over the past fifty years, the CMC’s Rimouski-Gaspé Chapter has given hundreds of young musicians aged 7 to 30 the opportunity to appear on stage. Many of these are currently pursuing brilliant professional careers.
A reminder that the CMC’s provincial final round for Québec will be held at Salle Bouchard-Morisset in the Rimouski Conservatory of Music from May 24 to June 4. The Quebec gala concert will take place on June 3 at 7 pm at Salle Desjardins-Telus Hall, Rimouski.
