General directives

Candidates registered for any Piano category between 7 and 15 years old may choose repertoire from an older age category up to a maximum of 2 years. For example, a candidate registered in Piano 8 years old can select repertoire from Piano 9 years old and 10 years old.

Notice: Your repertoire list must comply with the “Repertoire Guidelines”, as specified in the rules.

First Elimination

  1. J.S. Bach: one of the following works:
    • English Suite No. 3, BWV 808 in G minor (Gavotte II)
    • French Suite No. 2, BWV 813 in C minor (Minuet)
    • French Suite No. 3, BWV 814 in B minor (Minuet and Trio)
    • March BWV Anh. 124 in G major
    • March BWV Anh. 127 in E flat major
    • Minuet BWV Anh. 120 in A minor
    • Minuet BWV Anh. 132 in D minor
    • Partita No. 7, BWV 831 in B minor (Bourrée I)
    • Polonaise BWV Anh. 117b in F major
    • Polonaise BWV Anh. 123 in G minor
    • Polonaise BWV Anh. 125 in G minor
    • Polonaise BWV Anh. 128 in D minor
    • Polonaise BWV Anh. 130 in G major
    • Suite for Lute BWV 996 in E minor (Bourrée)
  2. One work or a group of movements or one movement of your choice or more than one work or parts of works from the same composer.

Maximum time: 10 minutes

Provincial Final

  1. A minimum of two contrasting movements of a sonatina chosen from the following list:
    • Beethoven: Sonatina in G major
    • Clementi: Op. 36, Nos. 3 or 4
    • Diabelli: Op. 151
    • Lichner: Op. 239, No 2
  2. One work or a group of movements or one movement of your choice or more than one work or parts of works from the same composer.

Maximum time: 10 minutes

National Final

  1. One work with orchestra or one movement or a group of movements.

Maximum time: 10 minutes
