General directives

Candidates registered for any Piano category between 7 and 15 years old may choose repertoire from an older age category up to a maximum of 2 years. For example, a candidate registered in Piano 11 years old can select repertoire from Piano 12 years old and 13 years old.

Notice: Your repertoire list must comply with the “Repertoire Guidelines”, as specified in the rules.

First Elimination

  1. J.S. Bach: one Two Part Invention.
  2. One work or a group of movements or one movement of your choice or more than one work or parts of works from the same composer.

Maximum time: 15 minutes

Provincial Final

  1. A minimum of two contrasting movements of a sonatina chosen from the following list:
    • Clementi: Op. 37
    • Haydn: Hob. XVI: 4, 7 or 10
    • Kuhlau: Op.88
    • Mozart: Viennese Sonatina Nos. 4, 5 or 6
  2. One work or a group of movements or one movement of your choice or more than one work or parts of works from the same composer.

Maximum time: 18 minutes

National Final

  1. One work with orchestra or one movement or a group of movements.

Maximum time: 15 minutes
