Alain Trudel

Dear music lovers,

It is with immense honour that I’ve accepted to be the Canadian Music Competition’s Artistic Ambassador. The opportunity that this competition offers to our country’s young musicians is of the first importance. The celebratory feeling of exchange and camaraderie are what make the CMC experience unique.

I can still remember my own participation in the CMC’s Stepping Stone — it was a defining moment in my early career. The chance to play in front of so many different audiences, to discover new parts of the country and the people that live there, to hear colleagues play, to benefit from the invaluable advice of the judges, and the feeling of having accomplished something important infuses the rest of our careers with confidence.

I have no doubt that the new generation of musicians from the 2011 edition will inspire you as much as they move you. This is our chance to get to know the next big stars of the Canadian scene. You can say you were there!

Musically yours,

Alain Trudel
