Historical Information

The information contained on this page is related to an older edition of the competition. It is made available for archival purposes only. For the most current information, please go to Canadian Music Competition 2019.

The “Junior Program” of the Canadian Music Competition was created in order to invite young musicians who are 7 to 15 years and who have never registered before, to discover the Canadian Music Competition. (Please see the list of eligible instruments and age categories). With this new program, young musicians will have the opportunity to present the repertoire required for the First Round for their instrument and age category and receive comments and marks from the two adjudicators, just like the other candidates. However, they will not proceed to the Provincial Final, even if they obtain 80%, which is the minimum mark required to go on to the second round.

The “Junior Program” is open to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants. Young musicians may register as Junior Candidates a total of two times. Candidates who have already participated in the Canadian Music Competition are not eligible for the “Junior Program”.

The deadline for registering is November 22nd, 2007. The registration fee is $30 (non-refundable).
