Yolande Cardinal, President of the Canadian Music Competition (CMC), is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie-Claude Matton as Executive Director of the CMC.

Marie-Claude Matton is already well known on the music scene and graduated in music from both the Université de Montréal and Concordia University. She also holds a D.E.S.S. Ms. Matton developed her fundraising expertise mainly with the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

In addition to making her mark as a violinist with a number of symphony orchestras, Ms. Matton has also taught at several music-oriented schools. She has been director of the Fondation Jeunesses Musicales Canada and, until recently, was part of the Université de Montréal Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Ms. Matton has both the passion and the qualifications needed to successfully manage the CMC, the largest and best known organization of its kind in Canada, reaching youths from 7 to 30 years old in every classical music instrument category.

“The Board of Directors is proud to have recruited Ms. Matton and wishes her the best of luck in this new challenge,” noted CMC President, Yolande Cardinal, on the occasion of the new Executive Director’s inauguration.
