2015 Gala Concert Soloists: Here they are!

Also announced in Vancouver today were the performers for the 2015 Gala Concert. The soloists are:

  • William Lu, piano (Burnaby, BC)
    • 1st place, Piano 14 years old category
  • Kyu Young Park, piano (Surrey, BC) and Vivian Lou, piano (West Vancouver, BC)
    • 1st place, Piano four hands / Duo-piano 17 years old category and 15-18 years Grand Prize winners
  • Helen Pei, piano (Richmond, BC)
    • 1st place, Piano 21 years old category and 19-30 years Grand Prize winner (tie)
  • Isabella D’Éloize Perron, violin (Calgary, AB)
    • 1st place, Strings 14 years old category and 11-14 years Grand Prize winner (tie)
  • Yu Kai Sun, violin (Montréal, QC)
    • 1st place, Strings 16 years old category
  • Ryan Zhu, piano (Vancouver, BC)
    • 1st place, Piano 11 years old category and 11-14 years Grand Prize winner (tie)

These seven remarkable musicians will perform at the 2015 CMC Gala Concert tomorrow, July 4 at 7 pm at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC. The soloists will be accompanied by the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Ken Hsieh.
