Anastasia Rizikov takes first prize of the Jaén International Piano Contest

The CMC was very happy to learn that former participant, Anastasia Rizikov, won the first prize of the Jaén International Piano Contest.

The Toronto pianist also won three other awards, the “Contemporary Music” award, the “Rosa Sabater”, given to the best Spanish music interpretation, and the “Audience Award”. Anastasia Rizikov is the first Canadian to win this prestigious competition. The award consists of 20,000 euros, the making of a record with the label Naxos and a three-concert tour, two in Jaén, Spain and one of them in Boston. She also won 12,000 euros for the other awards. Congratulations Anastasia!
