Pianist Maxim Bernard Presents the Concert 1914-1918

Maxim Bernard, First prize winner of the 2006 Stepping Stone, presents a recital on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Bourgie Concert Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

This recital marks the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War and will showcase works for piano by Bartók, Fauré, Hindemith Medtner, Nielsen, Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Scriabin, all composed between 1914 and 1918, while the war raged on. Mr. Bernard will perform Le tombeau de Couperin, dedicated by Ravel to the memory of six friends who died at the front.
