Congratulations to Louisa Lu, Recipient of Third Consecutive RCM Gold Medal

The Edmonton Chapter of the Canadian Music Competition would like to congratulate local pianist and nine time CMC National Finalist Louisa Lu for receiving a Gold Medal for having the highest mark in all of Alberta for the third consecutive year. At the age of 15, she has won the 2013 Gold Medal for Grade 10 Violin Examinations for The Royal Conservatory of Music. This is her third time winning the Gold medal for RCM (Grade 8 Violin Gold Medal 2011, Grade 9 Violin Gold Medal 2012, Grade 10 Violin Gold Medal 2013).

Louisa has received the degree of LRCM in Piano Performance at the age of 14. Louisa remains one of the youngest pianists ever to be awarded both the ARCT (Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto) and LRCM (Licentiate of the Royal Conservatory of Music) in the 127th year history of the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Louisa is a First Class Honour student at Old Scona Academic High School in Edmonton. She continues her music studies under the direction of James Keene and Wolfram Linnebach. She will be attending the Royal Conservatory of Music Convocation and the Gold Medal Ceremony at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in Calgary on April 27, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
