Two 1st Prizes for young pianist Tristan Teo

Pianist Tristan Teo, age 13, 2nd Place winner of the 2008 Canadian Music Competition, last weekend placed 1st Place in the Intermediate Solo and Intermediate Concerto categories at the prestigious Virginia Waring International Piano Competition in Palm Desert, California. In addition to a total of $6000 in scholarships, the young Vancouver musician and student of Sasha Starcevich will soon perform in concert with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, as part of the Youth Concert Series in Yakima, Washington. Every 2 years since 1978, the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition has been host to some of the world’s finest musical hopefuls. The CMC warmly congratulates Tristan on this new triumph. There is no doubt that his future looks very promising!
