All 16 semi-finalists in piano of the OSM Standard Life Competition have participated in the Canadian Music Competition: Benjamin Woo, Meagan Milatz, Mathieu Roussel-Lewis, Vincent Yang, Simon Boily-Proulx, Jean-Luc Therrien, Jan Lisiecki, Xin Qiang Yang, Alexander Malikov, Charles Richard-Hamelin, Rosy Ge, Yulin Shen, Yuxi Qin, Olivier Hébert-Bouchard, Vincent Béland-Bernard, and Tristan Longval-Gagné.

Two of the five semi-finalists in percussion also shined in the CMC last year: Benjamin Duinker and Noam Bierstone.
